Perspective: When Cyberbullying Hits Teens - MSN Tech & Gadgets - Security
This report seems to say that one way to avoid being a target of cyberbullying is to avoid the use of social networking sites, such as facebook and myspace. I'm sure that some teens would say that this is something they couldn't do without. As a measure of protection, the article says if one does participate in social networking, to not say anything electonically that you wouldn't want the whole world to know.
How about the things you text, IM, email, or post? Would you feel comfortable if your friends read them? Your enemies? Your parents? Your teachers? Your future boss, husband or wife?

Yes i would feel comfortable if somebody were to read my texts or im messages. I have nothing to hide. I dont say anything i shouldn't say because i know that could lead to trouble and its really mean.
i would care less, it's not as if future bosses would care how you act in colllege.
i wouldn't care if someone would read my messages.
I feel that what you put on your email,post or IM wouldnt deal with any cyber bullying and if it does I would just write it to people that I know. Also I wouldnt feel embaressed by what i put for my parents to see or anybody else.
i really could care less if someone read my messages. I have no really personal stuff in those mesages.
i feel safe most of the time but then when i really think about it ..it really scares me that people would know my personal stuff ...i dont like it when my personal stuff is known to other people when i dont want it to be
I would not really care if someone were to read my messages. If they wanted other people to not see them they could tell me in person

I don't think i would mind to much. I dont really have too much to hide. Some things though i wouldn't want people to read.
I would never want anyone to learn what i do in my personmal life that didn't concern them. I don't even have a facebook so i don't have to worry,besides if there that stupid, their ganna learn sometime or other what happens.
i'm not sure how i would feel bacuse there are some massages that i wouldn't want anyone to read, but then again putting that stuff up there for everyone to see is a risk so you better be ready!

I agree I don't think that certain people can live without facebook or myspace. More than likely everyday someone checks both of them. I do think that in some situations facebook is dangerous predator wise but for facebook you have the power in your hands to allow people to see your profile or to be puttin yourself in danger. Myspace is alot more dangerous because everyone can see your page and everything about your personal life if you post it.
I wouldnt care if anyone read my text messages. Its not like i am talking about anything offensive or inapropriet. Also, facebook and myspace are both very important to me:P.haha it helps you stay in touch w/ people that you normally wouldnt.
i wouldn't care if people read my messages. They can see them all the time on Facebook. i don't put personal information in them.
I wouldn't care what people saw if i wrote. It would be weird though because its like someone spying on u.

I would be scared, and i think that i would only talk to the people that i know because the people that i dont know could be bullying.
I would not care if someone read my messages. I feel that I have not writen anything that would cause harm to anyone and I have nothing to hide. My parents often times ask who I am talking to and they are constantly asking me what I am talking about I always am open with them and tell them.

I would care to a certain extent but if it means anything i just delete it right away so no one can read it and i really try to refrain from putting personal information out on the internet
I would not mind if my frends family etc. because try to write things that are appropriate. I think that cyber bullying is wrong and people should fo it.
I wouldn't really care if my parents read what i write on facebook, when anyone in the world could read what i write, but since i changed my profile privacy they can no longer do this.
i care just a little bit i would care if it was a personal message but if it was i would delete it and if it wasent i wouldent care.
Most of the time I wouldn't worry about it if some1 was reading my messages becuase if it was that importnant or embarressing then I would talk to him/her in person.
Some of my messages I wouldnt want everyone to read but most I wouldn't really mind. I think facebook is actually pretty safe b/c you can set a private profile so only your accepted friends can view it
Most of the time I wouldn't care. But if it was something personal I wouldn't want other people to know. I would tell my parents but I dont want the whole world to know.
I try to be careful of what I say on a regular basis already, besides, I don't relly use social network sites because it's too time consuming and not really worth my time updating every other day.
Knowing someone anyone is reading my stuff such as my emials or text or w.e the case might be. Buggs me alot because its like my personal information being looked at.
In less i show my boss, parents., teachers, friends or who ever i wouldnt care but mostly likely i do if someone would just look at it!
I would care if someone could see my personal e-mails or messages to a certain point. I dont have much to hide but I wouldn't want some things to be seen.
I don't think I would really care if someone read my messages because I don't usually say anything that would hurt someone else. Also, I am very open with my parents, and so I wouldn't have anything really to hide from them either. As long as no personal information was disclosed, I would not really care. However, it would kind of bug me that someone else was reading my things.

I MEAN IM SURE THAT YOU WOULDN'T WANT ME TO GO THROUGH YOUR PANTIES DRAWER OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. NO SERIOUSLY THOUGH I HATE WHEN SOMEONE DOES THAT STUFF I JUST WANT TO BEAT THEM WITH A BASEBALL BAT

I would feel comfortable with people reading my txts and IM messages. I don't say anything to bully anyone and I make sure not to say things that could get my in trouble. I keep the things i say kind and also i don't use bad language. I know that if i say things that i shouldn't i could get in trouble and probably get my account taken away. I don't want my accounts taken from me or my txting so i don't say things that i shouldn't say.

No i would not like other people reading my text or my other perosnal stuff. Because my paretns to it to me all the time who ever calls me or who im txting
I would personally care to a certain extent, the messages were sent to me and should be read by only me, some of the messages could be personal and we as citezens of the United States have the right to privacy.
I wouldn't care if somebody read any messages or comments i wrote bc i don't write anything i shouldn't say. I don't really think people should spy on you like that and make sure your being good. they wouldn't want people going into their stuff. but feel free theres nothing to see. what i say is not exactly how i feel i just don't say anything i shouldn't that could hurt somebody.

I wouldn't feel bad if anyone read my texts, or e-mail because i don't bully anyone and when i talk to someone i treat them right. My future boss and wife would be fine to look at them i have nothing to hide. If my piers read them i wouldn'e mind at all.

um yea i would feel umcomfortable with someone reeading my stuff bc i some times have some not to good stuff on there so thats why i would feel uncomfortable.
I wouldnt care if people came and read my text messages.i guess i dont understand why they would care.its not like im hiding anything from anybody so he wouldnt bother me at all..i use facebook to keep in touch with my friends..:)
I don't really care if, my parents or friends read my texts or emails.I don't feel like I have to hide anything to them!
I have my Mom on facebook already so she can read all my stuff or look at my pictures. If i had bad stuff on there i wouldnt have added her. As for text messages a lot of my friends know my password to unlock my phone so they can read whatever. I don't have anything bad on there. Maybe some personal text messages I wouldnt want certain people to read but for the most part nothing bad is ever on there.
I wouldn't care if someone read my messages because there is nothing that i have to hide and they're not embarassing.
